Unlike millennials, Gen Z is growing up alongside the digital age of personal computers, cell phones, tablets, Facebook, and Google. They are identity-centric, consume information rapidly, are adept at filtering out institutional noise, and make purchases according to research,brand, and how their purchases will impact their self image. Additionally, whereas millennials are delightedby 24/7, instant, seamless, predictive, and personalized experiences, Gen Z expects them.
On the heels of Gen Z, Gen Alpha’s rearing is immersedin technology. Their toys are connected IoT ‘things’ —and when they have questions, they ask Amazon’s Alexa outloud for answers, often rudely . The eldest of Gen Alpha are still under ten years old, yet this generation also heavily influences household purchases and is hard-wired for instant gratification.“ says the “Top six digital transformation trends shaping business and society report of Forgerock.”
Unlike traditional delivery companies, the future of the industry should be defined on the visions of these Alpha’s. Simply, the fact is not teleporting the goods as first comes into mind when speaking about the future. On the other hand, it could not be so easy to define it on the basis of on time delivery as it is today. When we consider the technological development of the market, can we either say that hubs(hearts of all operations) really have enough technology or the terminals of the couriers? The issue is not just the technology, it is the; mindset- unfortunately the hardest to change…
